Per il quarto anno consecutivo, il Coro Musicanova conferma la sua partecipazione all’immancabile appuntamento del Festival Barocco di Roma, rinnovando l’adesione al progetto Palestrina.
L’XI Edizione 2018 del Roma Festival Barocco prevede un ricco calendario di concerti e conferenze musicologiche che, da Roma, si estenderanno alle città di Milano e Napoli. La realizzazione del “I Festival del Clavicembalo” in alcune residenze seicentesche dei Castelli Romani completa un percorso musicale che coinvolge alcuni fra i luoghi più suggestivi
dell’architettura barocca italiana.
Il Coro Musicanova parteciperà con l’esecuzione della messa “Confitebor tibi Domine”, per un organico ad otto voci in due cori speculari. La messa è uno dei capolavori del celebre compositore italiano Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, pilastro della musica corale Rinascimentale.
Il Coro Musicanova replicherà la sua esecuzione in due appuntamenti distinti: sabato 8
dicembre – nella suggestiva Basilica di Santa Maria in Montesanto situata presso Piazza del Popolo, nel centro storico di Roma – e Domenica 9 dicembre presso la Parrocchia del Sacro Cuore del Gesù a Tivoli.
Il Roma Festival Barocco coniuga ricerca musicologica, esecuzioni filologiche e luoghi storici della Roma barocca. La presenza di prestigiosi esecutori internazionali e la spettacolarità degli eventi, sono gli ulteriori elementi che contraddistinguono la manifestazione, divenuta un appuntamento annuale fra i più importanti della Città Eterna.

The 11 th Edition of 2018 of the Rome’s Baroque Festival includes a magnificent calendar of concerts and musical conferences which will expand from Rome to the cities of Milan and Naples. The creation of the “1 st Harpsichord Festival“ in historical 1600’s residents’ in Castelli Romani completes a musical path that involves some of the most beautiful locations of the Italian Baroque architecture.
Musicanova Choir will participate by performing the mass “Confitebor tibi Domine”, written for a specular double choir divided in eight voices each. The mass is one of the masterpieces by the renowned Italian composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, pillar of the choral music of the Renaissance.
The Choir will perform in two separate events: Saturday the 8 th of December – in the evocative Basilica di Santa Maria in Montesanto in Piazza del Popolo, in Rome’s historic centre – and Sunday the 9 th of December in the Parrocchia del Sacro Cuore del Gesù in Tivoli.
Rome’s Baroque Festival combines musical refinement, philological events and historical Baroque locations in Rome. The participation of prestigious international performers and the magnificence of the events are additional elements that make the festival so remarkable. It has in fact become one of the most important yearly appointments in the Eternal City.
